CLAPHAM COURTYARD GARDEN

A garden designed for a couple and their dog, perfect for both entertaining and relaxing. The space features multiple seating areas—some with bespoke built-in benches, and others with flexible, movable furniture. The design follows a soft, classic scheme, using cobblestones, diamond grey, and off-white paving for a timeless look. The built-in benches are complemented by lush planting underneath, while the rest of the garden is filled with a mix of taxus domes and ferns for year-round interest, alongside herbaceous plants for seasonal blooms. Tall Amelanchier and Malus trees add height and structure, with the color palette limited to soothing whites and pale pinks. Grasses introduce movement and texture, adding a dynamic element to the serene atmosphere. The main part of the planting is set at ground level to soften the linear lines of the paving. Natural slatted trellis panels are providing a subtle backdrop to the garden and a soft washed pink wall on other right-hand side creates a French feel and works beautifully with the checkerboard paving slabs.
